Delhi Government has decided to cancel all the upcoming Delhi State Universities (not DU) exams including the final year exams too due to the rising cases of COVID-19, announced by the Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia on Saturday, July 11th,20
The degree will be awarded to the students based on the assessment of the evaluation parameters set by the respective universities. “All the students in Delhi State Universities will be promoted to next semesters and the final year students can be awarded their degree basis their past performance.” Deputy CM said.
This contradictory move by the Government of Delhi comes days after the University Grant Commission (UGC) statement, when it said that, the final year examination must be conducted by the end of September and it could be carried out either online or offline or both ways.
On the other hand, Delhi University (DU) on 8th July stated that the Open Book Examinations which was scheduled to be held on 10th July for the final term student postponed till August 15th.
The High Court criticizes the University for not providing a clear timetable for it.
Meanwhile, CM Arvind Kejriwal has written a letter to the PM, asking him to personally look into this matter and cancel the exams of DU and other central controlled universities.
